Rich Pyle Throwing Things

Rich PyleDetroit, MI (May 1, 2014) – The honor of throwing the first pitch at the Detroit Tiger’s game goes to Rich Pyle, May 7th, 2014.

Pyle is part of a Detroit Tiger’s Legacy. His Grandfather played professionally for the Tiger’s back in the 30’s and his father was only 16 years old still in high school when he was on Detroit’s minor-league team.

“I played baseball from T-ball, Little League and through high school with the likes of Steve Avery, who went on to be a professional pitcher for the Atlanta Braves when they won the pennant. The year the Braves won the championship Steve came back home and called my dad and ask him to meet him at the baseball field. When he got to the field he said he wanted to thank my dad for teaching him how to pitch the correct way all those years ago. I can still see my dad’s head swelling every time he tells that story,” says Rich.

Baseball is still a big part of the Pyle family as his son Nicholas plays for his middle school team and the Down River Hawks travel team and was invited to play in Cooperstown New York for the 12 year old national championship tournament this summer. Rich is excited and pleased to have his wife, son and daughter attend the game with him. Throwing out the first pitch allows Rich to continue on with the family tradition with the Tigers, even if it is just one pitch.

Currently Pyle has been consulting and is fielding offers for a new TV Show while playing in his band, working on launching his clothing line, finalizing an endorsement deal and enjoying time with his family. His band, Superlast, has been getting a lot of attention and is playing at the Magic Bag on May 3rd, 2014. He is also judging a DJ contest Electric Heroes II, sponsored by Cabresto Tequila on May 17th, 2014 at Pier 500 hosted by DJ Dock.
