July Events 2017

Our suggestions for something fun to do in July around Metro Detroit and Michigan!  Please verify all dates & times before attending.

 

June 29th-July 2nd, 2017Stars & Stripes Festival.  Live music, a huge carnival midway, monster truck rides, BMX stunt show, food trucks and more.  Free fireworks June 2nd. -Novi, MI

July 1st, 2017 (Sat): Historic Baseball at Greenfield Village. Baseball 1867 Style. Take your peanuts and Cracker Jack to 1867 as the Greenfield Village Lah-De-Dahs play by early base ball rules. -Dearborn, MI

July 7-9th, 2017:  Red, White & BBQ. Fireworks, pig races, monster truck rides, music, brews, BBQ eats & Treats. Free entry!  http://redwhitenbbq.com -Livonia, MI

July 8th, 2017: Summer Metal Fest 2017. 14 bands ready to rock.  $12. All Ages. -Ann Arbor, MI

July 11th, 2017 (Tue):

It’s Mud Day at Nankin Mills Park.  Wayne County Parks is set to transform Nankin Mills Park into a 75’ x 150’ giant mud pit.   Children ages 12 and younger will have the opportunity to get down and dirty at one of the messiest playgrounds Southeast Michigan has ever seen!  Thousands of children participate in fun filled activities, such as mud limbo and wheelbarrow races. The 2017 King and Queen will be crowned after the games are over.  The Western Wayne Hazmat Team will be on site to help rinse the kids off at the end of the event.  FREE.  -Westland, MI

Then don’t forget it’s Free Slurpee Day at 7-Elevens across the land.  Walk into a participating 7-11 and ask for your free cup.  They are slightly smaller than their other cups, but’s still a nice cool treat for FREE.  All Ages.  -Across the USA.

July 15th, 2017 (Sat):  Build a Model T.  Grab a wrench and help build one of the cars that made Henry famous. Participants will gain new perspective about Henry Ford and the car that changed the world as they assist in the assembly of an authentic Model T. Spend time in this one-of-a-kind activity led by experienced presenters. -Dearborn, MI

July 21st–23rd, 2017:  Founders Festival 2017. Meijer presents the Greater Farmington Area Founders Festival, which has been a summer tradition for 53 years. This year, the festival is adding new kids’ programing, a hot air balloon “Light the Night” event and a 5k Color Run! The festival will take place in the heart of downtown Farmington and Shiawassee Park. -Farmington, MI
